Online sand and aggregate moisture sensors
A fixed probe under the silo flap, on the dosing belt or in the mixer feeds moisture straight into your batch controller. Water correction happens on every batch, automatically, with nobody walking to a stockpile.

Round, rod and mixer probes
Form factor follows the mounting point. Head material follows how abrasive the material is.

SONO VARIO Standard
Fixed inline probe for sand and gravel in normally abrasive service. Continuous moisture to the PLC.

SONO VARIO Xtrem
Hardened-steel head for coarse gravel, crushed stone and RAP. The abrasive-service probe.

SONO SILO Standard
Rod-form probe for silo and bin wall installation in normally abrasive sand and gravel.

SONO SILO Xtrem
Hardened-steel rod probe for coarse gravel and crushed stone in silo or bin installation.

SONO MIX
The heavy-duty mixer probe. Carbide insert, built for intensive, planetary and twin-shaft mixers.

SONO MIX Mini HC
Compact probe for tight installations — intensive mixer scraper or laboratory mixer.
It wires in like any other transmitter
Electrical integration is identical to other measuring systems. Power comes from system voltage. Analog output is 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA or 0–10 V. Digital output runs over RS 485 or the IMP bus.
Probes ship with 15 typical product calibrations — aggregates, sand, gravel, crushed stones. Parameterization and commissioning is done with SONO VIEW as a wired display, or wirelessly, and either can select, change or create calibrations and read the probe directly.
For long cable runs, the IMP bus is the robust option and requires a display unit. Multiple probes can be networked to one control system — practical when you have several sand silos on the same line.
How the sensor is actually held in place
The probe is half the installation. Getting a representative reading depends on putting the sensor face where material genuinely flows over it — not in a dead corner, not where material packs against it, and not somewhere the wear plate will be destroyed in a month.
Mounting hardware is chosen with the position. Confirm it with us when you specify the sensor rather than afterwards.

Universal mounting bracket
Three-axis adjustable bracket with a deflector plate. Mounts a round sensor under a silo discharge and lets you set the angle so material sweeps the face rather than packing against it.

Sliding carriage
Wear-plate carriage for belt and chute installation. Available in stainless, plasma-hardened steel and WIDIA carbide tile for the most abrasive service — the carriage takes the wear instead of the sensor face.

Slider plate assembly
Threaded-rod assembly that carries the sensor into the material stream and holds position under load. Adjustable insertion depth.

Sensor mounting kit
Clamping ring, deflector plate, threaded rods and fasteners as a set. Available for 108 mm and 132 mm sensor bodies.

Mixer mounting frame
Split clamping frame for installing a mixer probe through the base plate. Holds the sensor flush so the scraper passes cleanly over the face.

Sensor cable, 4 m
Shielded multi-core cable with a screw connector at the probe end and flying leads for the controller. Shunt resistors supplied for 0–10 V operation.

Sensor cable, 10 m
As above at 10 m. Also available in 25 m, and as a 5 m fixed gland version.
Send your batch controller model
Output configuration depends on what is reading it. Tell us the controller or SCADA system and the mounting point, and we will confirm compatibility before you order.
